Thursday marked our Second Annual #WestsideMediaProject School Showcase!
The showcase was an opportunity for students, staff and administrators to see the digital media projects we’ve been working on.
Some of the topics our students vlogged about:
– Letters to Self
– If I Could Go Anywhere in the World
– Obstacles in my Community
Check out these candid shots.
Media with a Message
In addition to digital storytelling, students now have the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas using graphic design and poster making. After a series of discussions about how they view their community, students began creating posters they hope will have an impact throughout their neighborhood. Popular ideas ranged from ‘Stop the Violence’ to ‘Pick up the Trash’. One the posters are finalized they will be hung around the school and throughout the neighborhood as a reminder to take better care of our community.
